About The Program

Department of Radio, Television and Cinema

Established in 1997, the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema aims to train communicators who are equipped with up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of mass communication, who have gained intensive experience in scenario, management, image, sound, editing and broadcasting, and who have developed the ability to look critically and approach ethically. The program aims to create a strong bridge between theory and practice and to gain an integrated perspective on content and form. Our department, which is accredited by ILEDAK, ensures that education and production complement each other through cooperation agreements with organizations that shape the sector, joint development and evaluation of educational content. In addition to academic staff, students take courses with professionally experienced instructors from the sector; in graduation projects, they get the experience of feeling closer to the profession with the evaluation of juries including sector representatives.

Our students become industry-ready by using current digital technologies and software in applied courses. They can participate in different projects and workshops carried out within the scope of the faculty and university and develop projects themselves. A 30-day compulsory internship and graduation projects in the final year allow students to put their education into practice. The Radio, Cinema and Television Master's Program aims to provide an interdisciplinary approach and theoretical contribution to the field of media.

We live in a world where time and space are turned upside down and everything is told through audiovisual images. In this world, distances can no longer be measured by physical measurements, everything can be right next to us at any moment. No day passes without watching television programs or movies or listening to the radio. We are constantly looking at screens; thanks to our computers, cell phones and tablets, we can access media content from anywhere, anytime. While communication technology provides consumers with this convenience, media content also teaches the masses what they should think and do. This is a very important power... When working in radio, television and cinema, it is necessary to be a content producer who approaches the realities of life objectively, critically and with respect for ethical values. We need this, first and foremost for ourselves, but also for our immediate environment, our country and the world. We can achieve this together.
